Latest Updates from Our Project:

Happy Holidays to the Cork Fam!

***There are a few very important details at the bottom of this update so please read that***

So, gotta love how things happen. Monday, I sent out an update letting you all know the chaos behind the scenes, breaking the news that the Corks weren't en route anytime soon, and thanking you all for your patience. THEN. LITERALLY AN HOUR AFTER UPDATING EVERYONE. I not only get told the Corks are on their way, but that they had been on their way since THURSDAY and would arrive Tuesday morning (yesterday). Again, this whole thing has been a corky chaos.

SOOOOOOO

After scrambling, changing mind sets, calling in a few favors, getting a Uhaul, meeting the trucker and cramming all 1500 Corks in a truck (and my Subaru because it didn't all fit....) all within 24 hours, the Corks are HERE IN MASAHBLES HQ AND WE'RE ALREADY PACKAGING THEM!!! :D

Sorry for the whiplash everyone. It is a WILD ride.

(Top left) Kayla and Meg quickly realizing what 1500 corks looks like. (Top right) Shiver Packs Packed! (bottom) COOOORRRRRKKKKSSSS

***Important Questions Answered***

-Does this mean that Corks will arrive in time for the 25th? : No. Unfortunately we can't swing that. But they'll start arriving RIGHT after. (International will take longer to travel)

-Where is my tracking? : We are shipping mostly through FedEx with a few through USPS to accommodate for PO Boxes. We got an awesome deal to be able to send your packages quicker for the same price so obviously we're going with that option! You will not get an email notification until the package is scanned and on its way. Then you will be notified and you will be able to track your cork!

-When will I get my corks? : Being last minute and so close to the holidays, it was harder to find helpers so it's just going to take time to physically package all 960+ orders. But we will start dropping packages off today. Whatever we can't finish by Christmas Eve, we'll take a break and pick up on the 27th. I'd love to be able to send everyone's off at the exact same time but that's just not feasible. But trust me, these next 48 hours is going to be a packing MACHINE. Wish us luck!

-Do I need to pay for customs? : Just a reminder for international adopters. All countries have a different system when it comes to customs. Some of you will have to pay your country's VAT tax before they will allow the package into the country.

We are going to be live streaming the packaging chaos all day today and tomorrow! You can tune in on my Twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/megsmashables and maybe catch your floof being wrapped and sent! :D

I can't believe we're finally here. You all have had a huge roll in the first monumental step towards Mashables becoming much much more than just some fun doodles. Thank you for supporting me on this journey!

Shipping Delays Due to LA Port Insanity
almost 3 years ago – Mon, Dec 20, 2021 at 10:58:55 PM

Hi Cork Fam,

It is with great frustration and sadness that I say we have yet to receive the Corks in Mashables headquarters in Atlanta. Behind the scenes has been chaotic to say the least, with little left in our own control.

Simply put, Squishables is working diligently to get us a trucking company to pick up the container of Corks in the LA port in California. They've made it through customs and everything and just need to be physically picked up. We were told the 12th was the date it would arrive to us, which was the initial plan. But issue after issue has resulted in the Corks not being picked up. We've even had a trucking company dispatch a truck, the truck GOT IN LINE, then was told it was a two hour wait so the truck left instead of getting the container. So needless to say it's been wildly frustrating. The LA port is a disaster as a whole right now from the pandemic and holiday season, and we're feeling those repercussions.

Because it's been so up and down as to when the Corks were coming, I didn't want to keep giving you all false hope one day, and then two days later tell you something different, so I refrained from updating until I had a SOLID tracking number and KNEW they were on their way to us here in Georgia. But now that we're so close to the holidays with no such certainty, I wanted to update you all on what had been happening behind the scenes.

Though it was never promised that they'd come in for a Merry Corkmas, it's still super disheartening that we weren't able to accomplish that. And for that, I'm sorry. BUT, whenever we do get them in, we'll be sending them out ASAP.

I appreciate all of your patience with these uncontrollable circumstances. Hopefully the next update will be a picture of 1500 Corks in a pile being packaged up and sent to their respected homes.

Thank you all! Happy Holidays!

ADDRESS LOCKING TIME IS NEAR!
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Nov 28, 2021 at 08:10:20 PM

Hello Cork Fam!

Hope you all had a wonderful November so far! The time is here to lock in addresses!

***I WILL BE LOCKING ADDRESS ON DECEMBER 1ST!!!!***

"Locking in addresses" simply means that you will not be able to change your shipping address once I lock them in Backerkit (the platform we've been using to answer surveys and shipping info). So this means that if you have moved or need the Cork shipped somewhere else for any reason at all, your window of changing that is closing. Any address changes that happen before December 1st is perfectly fine UNLESS you are suddenly changing your address from Denver, Colorado to Norway or something in that nature. Then we'll have to adjust your shipping costs a bit :D

We have already collected your addresses when you paid for shipping, so if you haven't moved or don't need to change addresses, you don't have to do anything! Yay!

Of course, life happens and if you suddenly have to move after the address lock time, reach out to us directly and we'll get you squared away. You've made it this far, we're getting you your dang Cork. Just please make sure you contact us before they are shipped out, because once they are shipped, we can't change anything.

Cork arrival to Mashables™ headquarters is still fluctuating constantly, so instead of giving you all a roller coster of expectations, we are still steadfast on the idea of January as the Cork arrivals. But as soon as I get a confirmed tracking number and I KNOW they're on their way, I'll let you all know!

Can't believe we're so close to the end of all of this, it's been a wild ride, and I have all of you to thank for this experience!

As always, reach out with any questions or concerns and be safe during the holidays!

Shipping delays and Pre-Order info
almost 3 years ago – Tue, Oct 19, 2021 at 02:39:51 AM

Hello mashie fam!

In this update you will see SHIPPING DELAY INFORMATION and PRE-ORDER INFORMATION

SHIPPING DELAY INFORMATION:

Not so awesome news....this is from Squishable:

"Due to the turbulent global logistics market, the material the factory had ordered for this has been delayed.

This order is now ready to handover on 10/22 but will not arrive to the Savannah port until 12/12 which then is about another 10 days to your destination.

We have been pushing daily to ensure the fastest ship time but with the overwhelming amount of delays, it was inevitable."

This translates to a bunch of Corks getting to us (Meg's Mashables) right around Christmas time. We will do our best to then package and ship the Corks out to you ASAP. Good news, it's looking like we're still in the original promised window, bad news is it's not as early as we were previously told/hoping for. There are a lot of different elements in play right now, and I appreciate all of your patience and understanding while we collectively navigate our post-pandemic world. We will keep you updated every time we get news on shipping!

PRE-ORDER INFORMATION:

For my lovely friendos that missed the original Kickstarter but were able to pre-order. You were not charged with the original Kickstarter Backers. Logistically on our end, you're in two separate categories so when I clicked "charge cards" it was only for the Kickstarter Backers. I'm sorry for any confusion! It was slightly confusing on my end ^-^'

I am going to lock the pre-orders on Wednesday the 20th, and charge on Friday the 22nd (just to give you a heads up so it's not completely random). Any further pre-orders will be locked and charged individually, meaning people can still pre-order!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! I appreciate all of your support and patience with all of this. I'm so excited to see my first ever stuffed animal go into so many arms across the globe. That is so surreal to my artist heart ^_^ Thank you all for being you!
